For me the line between humor and subversive humor has become blurred. To explore this I chose to create a visual journal based on my first semester experiences as an Art Education Ph.D. student at Penn State. This semester has been one of the most rewarding and challenging experiences of my life. My journal focuses on the exploration of working with amazing professors and acquiring new friendships. In contrast, the journal also focuses on the struggles I have faced in school and moving away from my family, home and loss of a loved one.
